Se adopt\u00f3 un sistema basado en el \u201cInca de Oro\u201d, pero la medida no pudo tener efecto pues el desarrollo de la guerra impidi\u00f3 la acu\u00f1aci\u00f3n de monedas en ese metal. S\u00f3lo lograron imprimirse billetes expresados en \u201cIncas\u201d y acu\u00f1arse monedas de plata fraccionarias, como la de 5 pesetas, llamada \u201cMo\u00f1ona\u201d y otra de una peseta.
